Dynasty Warriors Strikeforce - Love this game finally a DW done right for the PSP! So far there is quite a few downloadable quests which adds some re-play. I swear, Zhang He gets more and more feminine with every new DW...Still my favorite character though. Them claws is tight!
Super Stardust Portable - Never played the console version of this game but this iteration is a great flashy shmup with online leaderboards and such.
Class Of Heroes - Old-school rouglike JRPG. I liked the beginning where you set up your students , pick their majors, and take classes but the rest was pretty boring. Tapping the shit out of X to get through the slow battle sequences was disheartening especially when theres like 18 fucking monsters fighting you at the same time all with their own millions of actions. So one confrontation ends up being a sizable and soul crushing amount of text and blah blah. ZZZZzzzzzz
Pangya Fantasy Golf - It's like Hot Shots nut with an insipid story. It's a fucking golf game! No story please...Unless its of course if it focuses on mutant grizzly bears playing golf to raise awareness on genetically altered forest creatures. Yeah, then I would be on board.
PixelJunk Monsters - It's a tower defense game that's kinda cute. Your a tiki-turtle man protecting his babies. yup.
Disgaea 2 - Now as much as I would like to get into this game as it is super badass looking, kind of funny, and super deep, my brain just refuses to stick with it. Theres just too much shit to pay attention too. Hence I didnt get very far. Played like one battle. oh yeah and the exploding penguins are still funny.
Ys 6 Ark Of The Napishtim - Neat for about 10 minutes. The story was typical; our hero washes up on shore, has amnesia, eventual love interest discovers him brings him in much to the dismay of the village folk etc. After all that I went into the woods and faced off against the unbalanced shitstorm of monsters. yup.
I wanted to try Gran Turismo still can't get it to work on my current CFW. Not really worried about it though as I heard it sucked.

Top FPS
SO this isn't explosively funny and Marcus is technically from a 3PS but... the production on this video is pretty damn good and the allied soldier in a rocket part made me laugh.

Where I be?!
- Got ODST, Loved it! Comes with the H3 multiplayer disc hence I am back into H3.
- Nabbed Castle Crashers some time ago, dig that as well.
- Downloading Undead Knights for PSP plus the new GT.
- Can't think of much else but I foresee October being a good month for games!

Yeah Seriously.
Serious Sam HD commercial made me giggle quite a bit. I'm a sucker for batshit commercials. Such as this:

Tri
Me and my monster hunter. Can't get enough of the shit. I downloaded the MH3 demo a while back and it was nuts! Especially how there is a PSP control scheme...I jumped right in! I can't wait for this to come stateside. I will pay money for it. Seriously.

Man Crush Fer Sher.
Kojima is definitely my man crush. For many reasons. He is a Great writer, he's Intelligent and just plain stylish. And being a PSP owner I am doubly excited that he has his hands in the new Metal Gear. Wooo! Check it [Kotaku]

I Find A Funny
I was just talking about FPS mechanics and their unrealistic nature. Such as the way the guns are held in relation to the camera's viewpoint. This mildly supplements that notion.
Interface With Life
So I had forgotten that my phone, a Sony Ericson 580i, had a pedometer function. So being intrigued to know how much exertion occurs on any given day I turned it on at the beginning of the week to track my steps. I ride my bike to work everyday, walk around alot at work, and frequently pace about when I am deep in thought. The results were not that surprising, but impressive if I do say so myself. Yesterday I had to work and help my friend move and my final count was almost 9 miles.
The most awesome part however was the little app contained within that graphs your results during the week, tracks burned calories, but best of all it gives you achievements (akin to those of the Xbox 360 persuasion) for reaching certain goals. Such as I received a Gold "Vagabond" award for taking over 5000 steps in one day. This actually made me more excited to try and earn the others.

So I came to a realization about how awesome augmented reality games are. Instead of virtual reality or full immersion, I believe the next step in gaming is to bring the game to our realm. Like in place of us interfacing with the games; controlling what is going on in someone else's world, the games interface with our life In places that are more familiar to us. Fight aliens in our backyard, play football in the street with the pros, stuff like that. Like interacting with hallucinations only a computer is keeping score.
Here are some that I found that further this notion that augmented reality is the next step:
this ones kind of cheesy

The Greastest Mech Game News In Fucking Forever
So as you may or may not know I am obsessed with giant robot anything, Especially Battletech. So it is of no surprise that I am pleased as punch to hear about a new Mechwarrior game. Not Mechassault (fart). MECHWARRIOR! Apparently they are starting the series over again and just straight up calling it Mechwarrior. Holy Shit! There are too many things to say about this fantastical news, plus I may need a nap, thus the trailer will do the talking.

Didn't Think I Would Ever Say This But...
...Red Steel 2 looks positively tight. Seeing as the first one was an awesome concept executed poorly, the second installment doesn't have far to go in terms of being a decent game. Wii Motion Plus? The style?! Samurai Western shit?!! Oh my! Perhaps this will be what The Conduit should have been... an amazing game. If you don't like the way any of this looks, frankly, you are a bitch.

Nippon n' Burnout
So I read an article earlier on Kotaku (I think) that explained how SUDA51 of Grasshopper Manufacture fame's favorite game is Burnout Paradise. Being a fan Of SUDA and his exploits (not a rabid fan mind you) I felt inspired to play Freeburn as I hadn't done so yet. It was enjoyable to say the least. Essentially there are challenges to which everyone must meet, like jump 6 ramps in a given area, in order to gain points or achievements or something. Most people were unwilling to co-operate or were just plain unaware that we were doing something other than crashing into each other. However, the longer I played the more eager to work together people in the room became. So I scoped out their gamercards as any self-respecting inquisitive would do and surprisingly enough the majority of them were native to Japan. What makes this game so appealing to Japanese folks yet undeniably popular games like Halo 3 amount to shit in Japan? You'd think that Burnout is too American; muscle cars, vroom vroom, explosions, Guns n' Roses on the soundtrack... apparently not.

RIP TPB
So.. I just found out The Pirate Bay has been acquired and the new owners wish to turn it legit. As in no more pirated stuffs. A sad day indeed for P2Pers everywhere. I believe the reason why someone would want the site is directly related to the amount of press and visits the site sees per day hoping to capitalize on its notoriety in time before the transition forces the community away and all interest is lost. I predict shit tons of adverts on the site in the coming months. Truely earth shattering.
Linky Of Sadness.
Edit: Upon further reading they say "may be" changing owners. However the extent to which they are pleased with this possible venture it is almost certain it will happen if it hasn't already.

Where have I done?
Okay so big week and a half or so. Ready for bullets?
- Finally acquired an Xbox 360. Bought it used and has a Falcon Mobo with a 60 gig HD. I am now officially a cool kid.
- First game I bought? Gears Of War 2. Looks like Warhammer 40k took a shit on a bunch of football players and their surrounding environment. Horde mode is the bee's thorax.
- Bought a Wii Motion Plus. Played T-Woods 10 with my GF's Pep-pep. Baller game fer sher.
- Monster Hunter Freedom unite came out today/yesterday still hunting feverishly for a torrent.
- The Conduit comes out today. I think it might possibly borderline on perhaps being okay to play.
- On a whim I picked up Burnout Paradise from the bargain bin. It's great, It's Burnout. Made me think about when I am going to mod me box so I wont have to buy games all the time.
- Laughed at how the whole Project Natal thing seems to be a bullshit joke-a-thon and seemingly all the things that were touted as being Wii killers are in fact not real. Such as the whole creepy Milo thing.
- Currently compiling my greatest games of all time list. Hopefully I will post tomorrow. We shall see how that goes.

Powder
I have recently discovered I have an immense liking for Rouglikes. More or less because they are really impressively complex pieces of programming yet somehow easy to pick up and enjoy. That and I do enjoy the random things that take place at any given time within the game world. I have found two that I appreciate considerably:
Wayfarer. Which is currently and continuously in development. I love the style on this one, looks intentionally like classic old Ultima.
And Powder perhaps the most solid of the two. Also the one of which I can play on my PSP and do so quite frequently.

E309....yay...
Yeah super exciting for the gaming world in general. Announcements for new titles and tech. But for me E3 spells anxiety. Why? more shit for me to keep up with. More games to try, new things to buy. I will say however the announcement of the PSP GO and the MGS for 360 and pc sound hecka tight. Maybe some other stuff. That and the Wii's death is apparent.

I am Ahab.
Currently playing:
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 to get my self excited for Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) Coming to the Wii (US Release TBA) and generally just playing it as I dig Monster Hunter.

Also Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes Of Time (they really need to work on these fucking titles!) is a surprisingly fun game. I initially downloaded it more or less to try the whole connectivity feature contained therein, allowing you to play on the Wii and connect with DS versions of the game over Nintendo WFC. It essentially looks like a DS game, as you have to windows emulating the functionality of the dual screens, which you can adjust the size to your liking minimizing one whilst focusing on another. I must say that I didn't expect to like it, now I want to finish writing this so I can go connect with a pal and quest that shit 'til it hurts. It's simple and charming to say the least. I recommend this one.

What ever happened to great commercial such as this? Never owned a sega saturn but this ad definitely made me consider it.

To Download Is Devine.
So I have been hearing much things about Braid which recently came to the PC. I acquired it illegally as per my usual modus operandi. It is enjoyable. The first level is a bit of an homage to Super Mario Bros. with a "princess is in another castle" gag at the end of the first (or 2nd?) world. It is quite gorgeous to look at with a superb musical accompaniment to boot. The thing that perhaps makes it the most novel is its Prince Of Persia (circa 2003)-esque time warping ability which essentially allows you to correct your mistakes (i.e. bumping into an enemy, falling into a bed of flaming spikes) instantaneously putting you back to a safe place before said event rendered you dead. I am not completely wowed about the concept itself however the execution makes it worthwhile as it is seamlessly integrated into gameplay allowing for it to be an effective and awesomely useful mechanic.

With all that said my attention span dithers and haven't touched it since yesterday, after my 30 min playthrough. Perhaps later I shall visit it again.
Also on the recently downloaded and in the same vein as Braid, And Yet It Moves. Looks to be another 2d artfully constructed puzzle deal. I must say I do feel a slight bit of guilt for ripping off an indie production as this is a field I wish to enter myself. However i can not justify spending my hard earned money on something I am not sure I like indie or not.

That discussion for another time.

Call Of Booty (Heh)
So I have been putting it off for long enough. Every one and their uncle's monkey have played and endlessly spit about Call Of Duty 4. I can't be around a circle of game aficionados without someone bringing it up. And I have heard on numerous occasions that "if you are a fan of FPS" (which I am) "you've gotta have sex with this game...err i mean play it. Play it good." I have taken until now to download it as I didn't see it as being anything out of the ordinary. Which I'm sure it still wont be. But what the hell, what can I lose? Bandwidth? Time? I shall report back with my findings.
EDIT REPORT: I suppose this would be an instance in which I must put my foot in my mouth. After much shunning of this game I have realized that it truly does deserve the acclaim it has received. Now if you'll excuse me I h4v3 2 Pown 50m3 moar Nuobs LOLZORZ k?!

The end of the beginning of the middle.
So it has indeed been awhile since my last post. Much has happened. That's it.
I will say however my GF bought me my first current gen console. It happens to be a Wii of the Nintendo persuasion. I am pleased greatly, This machine I believe is the only true step forward in gaming hardware. Relying not on intense and perhaps overwhelming graphical output, but on a new play method. Something to get gramma involved in.

So far the games I have acquried since my recieving the console:
Wii sports (it came wif da system)
Wii fit (The lady person's)
Link's Crossbow Training (Came With The Zapper)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I owe a guy from work $20 for this)
Evil Communist Illegal Bootlegs:
No More Heroes
Boom Blox
Elebits
Thenchu Shadow Assassins
Warioware" Smooth Moves
MLB Power Pros 2008
Mario Super Sluggers
Rayman Raving Rabids: TV Party
Cooking Mama: World Kitchen
De Blob
Call Of Duty: World At War
Mario Kart Wii
Okami
Resident Evil 4
Super Mario Galaxy
Hasbro Family Game Night
Top Spin 3
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Ghost Squad
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09: ALL Stars
Order Up!
I believe these are perhaps the good games on the console thus far. Waiting for Madworld and The Conduit. Waiting.
